Error 429 – ActiveX component can’t create object

When running AYS, the following message appears:

Error: 429 – ActiveX component can’t create object

This error is caused when the AYS program can no longer access a critical file that was installed by the AYS installer. The problem is typically caused by one of the following reasons:

  • Another program has overwritten the file with a different version
  • The user logged in to Windows no longer has access rights to the folder where the file was installed
  • The file has been deleted

 Step 1: Download the most recent complete AYS installer from the AYS web site.

Step 2: Uninstall AYS.

Step 3: Install AYS as a Windows administrator user using the complete AYS installer.
