When a second user opens an AYS Microsoft Access database that is already open by another user, they get a “File already in use” error message. This problem can be resolved by the following steps:
Step 1: Ensure that all users who will access the AYS database have read, write, and create rights for the folder in which the database is located.
Step 2: When a user opens an AYS database then a lock information file is created in the same folder where the database is located. The lock information file will be the exact same name as the AYS database file, but with a .ldb file extension. If this file still exists after all users have exited the AYS program (including that the Internet Utility has been closed and/or the Internet Utility service has been stopped), then manually delete the .ldb file.
