How do AYS program version numbers work?

This article explains how AYS program version numbers work and how AYS licenses work with those program version numbers.

AYS program versions were formerly released every one or two years with major and minor version numbering (e.g. 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, etc.) The most recent release with this version numbering was version 3.5. Individual service packs were numbered incrementally (e.g. 3.5.000, 3.5.001, etc.)

As of July 2020, we are now releasing a new program update approximately once per month. AYS program versions are now numbered by year and month (e.g. AYS 2020 July release) with a version number of year, month, and service pack (e.g. 20.7.000, 20.7.001, etc.)

If you are licensed for AYS version 2020 then you will have access to all new program features that are added in the 2020 July through December releases. If you are licensed for AYS version 2021 then you will have access to all new program features that are added in the 2021 January through December releases, and so on.

Even if your license is not up-to-date, we encourage you to install the latest service pack to take advantage of bug fixes that are included in the monthly releases. Download and install the latest AYS service pack now if you have not already done so. And be sure to enable the option to check for monthly updates from the Help menu.
